Protein Viewer

Every protein folds into a 3D shape that fits its job. These models come from real experiments stored in the Protein Data Bank.

Ribbon view shows the protein backbone: coils are alpha helices and flat arrows are beta sheets. Each color is a separate chain (polypeptide). Small molecules such as heme are drawn as sticks. Sticks and space-filling views show every atom. Drag to rotate, pinch or scroll to zoom.
